Beautiful Summer

What a beautiful summer we are having so far--BUSY, but very satisfying!  We have seen so many prayers answered concerning Eddie's health situations...have had many appointments with his doctors and multiple tests, but it seems to be paying off as he is getting stronger and feeling better each day.  Praise the LORD!!

Last summer my beloved yard really suffered...so much was going on that I honestly don't think I even weeded one time and didn't go out to admire all the beautiful plants that the Lord has allowed me to plant and tend...no time or interest!  However, this summer things are more settled and I have spent the cool part of many mornings out planting, weeding, and admiring the Lord's handiwork!!!  Our friend, Andy, helped me plant three "Knockout Roses" and Eddie and I planted NINE geraniums (pink and red) in large pots, mostly in the back yard.

We have had an interesting start to our summer--Eddie just got home from three days in the hospital due to low sodium level due to excessive drinking of water, etc, due to????  Our son said "Dad would be fine if his wife would just stop trying to do him in!!"  He's kidding, I think...:-))  Seriously, Eddie's Dr. has limited him to a max of 40 oz. of fluids per day for a while till he levels out completely.  We praise the Lord for all the efficient and compassionate care at our Memorial Hospital. Thirty years ago (almost to the day) we rolled into Chattanooga to start a brand-new life.  I had been saved 5 years; Eddie two months.  God worked powerfully to move us from our little farm in Louisiana, and we were aware every moment that He was doing a “new thing” in and for us.  All our earthly possessions were on the back of a flat-bed 18-wheeler truck that Eddie had been driving…that was his last run.  Our 14, 12, and 11 year olds were enrolled the next day in Tennessee Temple Schools; my mother also made her home with us.   We had no money, no “contacts,” no jobs, no promises except from GOD!!  And He fulfilled every one—doing “exceeding abundantly above anything we could ever have asked or thought!”  How we have praised Him all these years for His sovereign plan…for His ever-present comfort through many trials and challenges…for his constant provision of EVERY need…for His abundant mercy to “grow us up” and give us a way to serve Him!  The list of His faithfulness could go on for pages.
